WAR
The idea of capturing the harsh images of war stems from my educational background in trying to understand not just the causes and effects of war, but how it transforms our ideas of war and how it forces cultures to adapt to it in order to survive by embedding the effects of war as a means to endure or move forward from war. My curiosity about war, to understand and prevent it, has led me to take on the challenge of conflict and war photography, but with a slightly different approach: a specialization in diplomacy and conversation. Photography has been a way to capture intense moments and bring them into everyday situations, and to advocate for both sides as a needless and senseless means of achieving each nation's goals.
My Goal
My goal in documenting war through photography is to understand war and conflict and to further political understanding of any given nation's desire to create a better future through peaceful, conversational means. The ultimate goal is to create a better, simpler way to show the world the brutality of war and how easily it can be resolved through civil discourse.
